BIBLE READING CHALLENGE
2011 is the 400th anniversary of the printing of the first widely available English version of the Bible, the King James Version. More than any other book, the Bible has helped to form our country’s life and culture. Yet today for many it is largely an unknown book.
The Scripture Union publicised the E100 Bible Reading Challenge to encourage people to read a short bible passage each day: 5 days a week: for 20 weeks. Details were found on www.e100challenge.org.uk under Resources
We took part in the challenge at the English Chapel in Aberdyfi and we hope we have helped you in this personal Bible reading initiative. At our Sunday morning services from the 9th January until the end of May the speakers focused on the following week’s readings, putting them in the wider context of the Bible as a whole and helping us understand and appreciate more of what we read.
