Moon Sook and Michael Choi
Members and Friends of our church welcome Moon Sook Choi and her husband Michael to Aberdovey.
Moon Sook Choi will begin her work as our new Minister on 1st January, 2006.
Moon Sook Choi was called to the world mission while ministering in the Korean Central Church in Seoul in South Korea and came to Wales as a missionary thirteen years ago.
After graduating from the Bible College of Wales, she engaged in pastoral care, teaching and preaching (including teaching missionary trainees) at the Nations Mission at the University of Wales. Together with her husband, Michael, she co-founded the Christian Mission School of Wales in Neath, work which Michael is continuing.
She has felt a strong burden of prayer for Welsh Churches - particularly for their revival. After being convinced of the call to Wales permanently, she applied to the Presbyterian Church of Wales and was ordained as a minister in April 2006. From the beginning of 2006 she accepted a three year appointment as part time minister of the Aberdovey English Presbyterian Church of Wales. Towards the end of 2005 Michael retired from full time work to support her in this ministry.
Moon Sook and Michael are now living in Tywyn - they have two sons, Sungho, currenty studying for a doctorate in theology in Bridgend, and Jaeho, who is studying languages at St Anne's College, Oxford.
